Bob McGowan

Bob McGowan joined Agra Trading in May 2007. After a brief stint as a high school teacher, he joined his multi-generational family farming business. For 17 years, Bob managed the company's rice-growing operations, leading personnel management, crop production and equipment and chemical purchasing. In addition to rice, he farmed wheat, beans, prunes and almonds.

Bob was also involved in local agriculture organizations and politics, including lobbying and water management groups. For six years he served on the board of the Butte County Rice Grower's Association (BUCRA) and was president for two of those years.

After the family's rice fields were converted to wildlife preservation lands, Bob returned to secondary education, teaching mathematics, science and English for the next 10 years. Most recently, he managed the shipping department of a local high-tech manufacturing firm, overseeing order fulfillment and specialized shipping requirements on custom testing equipment for the semiconductor industry.

A Chico, California native, he received a B.A. from UC Davis in 1972, and a secondary teaching credential from CSU, Chico the following year. Having returned to his agribusiness roots, Bob is currently working for Agra Services, Inc., where he is actively involved in the sales and marketing of the OmegaGrow line of organic fertilizer and pesticide products.
